What kind of port is Nagasaki Port?

Nagasaki Port has been a link between Japan and the world since the arrival of Portuguese ships in the 16th century. Even during Japan's period of national isolation, trade continued through Dejima.

Matsugae International Terminal was built to accommodate large international cruise ships and opened in 2010. It consists of Matsugae Wharf (410m long, 12m deep) and Dejima Wharf (340m long, 10m deep).
