Matsuyama Port is the gateway to the sea for Matsuyama City, the largest city in Shikoku, and has long developed as a key point on the Seto Inland Sea shipping routes.
In June 2026, the Japanese ship "Mitsui Ocean Fuji" called at the port, and the city provided a welcome and farewell ceremony, as well as tourist information.
